IAN Evatt hopes there will be no lingering effects of a recent disrupted fixture list when Barrow AFC head to Sutton United this afternoon.
The Bluebirds have had two weekends without a game both this month and last month, but returned to regular Vanarama National League action with a 1-1 draw at home to Bromley last Saturday.
That saw the team extend their recent impressive run to just one defeat in their past 12 matches and they are now approaching a busy period which includes some midweek matches, so Evatt is keen to ensure that form continues.
“Once you’ve had a break a few weeks prior to the last break, you’re kind of refreshed and you just want to kick on again,” said Evatt.
“Unfortunately, sometimes when you have weekends off it can stutter your momentum, so hopefully we can get back into the swing of things.
“We’ve had a few injuries, so hopefully we can get a couple of them back for Saturday, and keep going.
“We’re on a good run; we’ve lost one game in 12, which is exceptional at any level, so if we can keep on going and doing the best we can, hopefully we can get the right result on Saturday.”
