RYAN Thomas is the winner of The Mail’s Sports Performance of the Month Award for November after clinching a national mixed martial arts title in spectacular fashion.
The lightweight, who fights out of the Barrow MMA gym on Greengate Street, took just 11 seconds to overcome David Adams in the co-headline bout on the club’s show at Manhattan’s last month.
Along with claiming the British title for the division, Thomas’ quick finish was a record stoppage time.
His prize for winning the November award was a certificate and £50 cash prize, which was presented by Phil Whalley, of sponsors Furness Heating Components.
Thomas hopes to be back in the octagon in March or April.
