Barrow batsman Liam Livingstone was bowled for a golden duck, as England Lions lost their deciding one-day game against Pakistan A at Dubai by seven wickets.
The Lions were skittled for just 169 in what was the fifth and final match of the series, which was winner-take-all with it finely poised on two matches each.
Despite losing a couple of early wickets, it was a target Pakistan easily reached, as 67 not out from Mohammad Saad made sure they did so with ten overs to spare.
Former Lancashire captain Livingstone played as an opener but had his stumps rearranged by Rahat Ali off the first ball he faced at the end of the first over.
He was one of five England players who failed to trouble the scorers – Max Holden, Alex Davies, Dom Bess and Mark Wood were the others.
Only Joe Clarke’s unbeaten 60 and Ollie Pope’s 46 provided any real resistance, although tail-ender Jamie Overton did crack 33 off just 28 balls, as the tourists were skittled.
They were given some hope when Pakistan openers Shan Masood and Mukhtar Ahmed were trapped lbw by Wood and Saqib Mahmood, respectively, early in their reply.
But the hosts soon recovered and eased to victory when Saad struck the winning run off Livingstone's bowling in the 40th over.
