A JUNIOR football club got a n-ice present for the new football season when their new kit was sponsored by an ice cream company.
Walney Under 8s have had two kits sponsored by Roy’s Ices with the Ulverston-based company putting their name on the Walney shirts - and were more than happy to start giving some ice cream out when Roy came down to hand over the kit.
A large rush occurred upon Roy’s arrival when all the players headed over to grab some ice cream.
As well as handing out the kit and getting some ice cream, Walney Under 8’s and Roy posed for a picture together to commemorate the occasion, with smiles all around from the team.
Roy’s Ices is usually pitched up on the coast at Bardsea Beach and in the past
has even been praised by the Hairy Bikers for the quality of ice cream.
When posting the news on Facebook, Roy told the boy to “Wear your ice cream shirts with pride.”
Walney Under 8’s FC took to Twitter to thank Roy personally for the kits and the ice cream, with the hashtag ‘whataguy’.
