ARTWORK by a mysterious figure likened to world-famous graffiti specialist Banksy has gone missing.

The LoKi picture was on a door on a side street off Queen Street in Ulverston and has been removed or stolen at some point yesterday.

The artist has mentioned it on their Facebook page simply saying: "Someone either really liked it, or really hated it."

The south Cumbria artist put their latest works on display right at the heart of Ulverston town centre earlier this week.

Loki, whose first pieces popped up last summer, has placed a collection of lifesize modrock-crafted figures on the main roundabout. The guerrilla artist has also painted a new set of their characteristic striking pictures, mainly in black and white with pops of colour, on boards outside the town’s brewery. Loki’s first work - a six-foot painting of a human skull daubed above a doorway in Brewery Street - appeared in June last year. He continued to leave his artwork around Ulverston throughout the summer.
