A MAN and a woman have been arrested after a female train guard was allegedly assaulted at Millom.
British Transport Police said the incident happened last night when a Northern train guard was allegedly assaulted at Millom. A man and a woman were later arrested and have since been bailed.
A statement from the British Transport Police said: "We can confirm that a member of rail staff was assaulted at Millom station at 5.45pm on Tuesday, 30 August.
"Two people, a man aged 46 and a woman, aged 35, both from the Millom area have been arrested on suspicion of assault and bailed until Monday, 19 September."
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
