IT started as a competition which attracted a handful of people from local towns and villages.
Since then it has slowly grown in size and popularity - to the point that this year's Lakes Got Talent was truly a Cumbria-wide event.
Judges had their work cut out to select the acts they would put through to the finals to be held later this year.
The diversity of the acts was incredible, and we today feature some of those who made the trip to vie for a place in the grand final.
A total of 12 were selected for the grand final from the 32 acts which performed, with four in the last chance saloon as wildcards.
