A LOCAL man was killed in a fatal traffic collision on Saturday evening.
Passers-by tried to help the victim while ambulance crews attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police describe the driver as a local man in his 70s, with next of kin informed, although formal identification procedures are yet to take place.
The incident happened at Bank End on the road connecting Duddon Bridge to Ulpha at around 5.14pm.
The crash involved a silver Fiat Coupe.
