AS a band of heavy rain prepares to sweep across the West of Cumbria tonight (Saturday September 30) the authorities have issued information on how to stay safe.
What to do if your property has been affected by flooding?
If your property has been affected please go to the Millom Fire Station, in Millom Road. Reception centres are in the process of being set up.
Should you travel to the affected area?
If your property has not been affected please avoid travelling if possible as a number of roads around the area have been affected.
Is my area at risk of flooding?
The Environment Agency puts out warnings on areas which at at risk of flooding. To stay up to date with information regarding your area visit their website at www.gov.uk/check-flood-risk .
