A SALES specialist from Kirkby Lonsdale has tackled gruelling obstacle course 'Tough Mudder' to raise money for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

Ben Teece, 40, who works for Levens garage PV Dobson and Sons, is a committed Tough Mudder goer, with this event being his 10th challenge.

The 10-mile course took place at Broughton Hall near Skipton, featuring over 20 obstacles, including climbing walls, bog pits and an electric fence which took Mr Teece three and a half hours to complete.

He said: "It was great. It was throwing it down all day but we get wet and muddy anyway so all was good."

Last week's event was the first for charity, with the second taking place at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire on September 9.

Cathy Skidmore, corporate fundraising manager for Rosemere Cancer Foundation, said: "Rather Ben than me, but we are very grateful to him for taking on two Tough Mudders for us, and to PV Dobson and Sons for its longstanding support."

Rosemere Cancer Foundation works to bring world class cancer treatments and services to cancer patients in the area by funding vital equipment, research and training that are beyond limited NHS resources.

Mr Teece hopes to raise £300 for Rosemere through his fundraising page at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ben-teece1.
