POLICE investigating the theft of thousands of pounds worth of horse riding equipment believe the crime could be connected with an earlier incident.
Officers looking into the theft of an estimated £15,000 worth of tack from a stableyard near Windermere believe the incident “may be linked” to the taking of £50,000 worth of saddles and equipment from Bigland Hall Equestrian Centre, near Haverthwaite, in June.
The victim of the latest break in, which happened on Tuesday, has asked not to be identified,
A reward of £1,000 has been offered for any information leading to the recovery of the stolen property and the successful arrest, prosecution and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police on 101 and ask to speak to Kendal CID, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
A police spokesman said: “Police would like to remind stable owner to be vigilant and protect their property by correctly marking it.”
