A STAFF development organisation from Windermere has helped a leading Scottish firm scoop three national awards.

Onesimus, a people development consultancy based in Windermere, has been working with a leading Scottish firm, Global SCS, to help them to win the accreditations.

Global SCS, a quality management and procurement services provider, struck gold in the Investors in People, Investors in Young People, and IIP Health and Wellbeing awards.

Onesimus is owned by English Lakes Hotels Resorts and Venues and offers bespoke development programmes for a range of companies across the UK.

The company is headed up by former Olympic biathlete and Team GB coach, Ian Woods.

Drawing on his experience as a British olympian, Mr Woods has delivered a series of leadership, change management and personal development initiatives for Global SCS.

This long term investment in its staff has culminated in the three separate awards, making it the only oil related company in Aberdeen to hold all three simultaneously.

Mr Woods said: “Global SCS is committed to its staff and was determined to become ‘people pioneers’, supporting, developing and inspiring them to succeed both personally and professionally.

“The principles of performance, motivation and success are more or less the same in business as they are in sport.

"It’s always about people; the way we think and the way we support each other.

"I’ve carried the principles learned from competitive sport and adapted them for the world of work.”

Tommy Hillcock, managing director of Global SCS, added:

“The coaching and development support we receive from Onesimus is unique, with a lot of parallels drawn directly from Ian's Team GB Olympic experience.

“Going from ‘good to great’ is now a part of our everyday language."
