TWO people from Windermere have "serious injuries" after a road smash in South Cumbria.
Police were called to a two vehicle road traffic collision on the junction of Windermere Road and Hollins Lane, at 7.50am today.
The two vehicles involved were a Suzuki GSX-R 600 motorcycle driven by a 38-year-old man from Windermere and an Audi A1 driven by a 52-year-old man from Windermere.
The biker was airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital and the driver of the Audi was taken to the Westmorland General Hospital.
Both are described as having "serious injuries".
Windermere Road was closed from Plumgarths roundabout to Ratherheath Lane and has now been reopened.
