VILLAGERS are getting a new playground after getting the nod for funding.
A new play area will be created in Flookburgh after £49,391 was granted by community funding group Wren.
The plans are to turn a previously muddy field into a large inclusive park and play area.
The site will home an adult gym, toddler play area, junior play area and free play area for ball games. There will also be a car park, shelter and picnic area.
The park is designed for people of all ages and abilities and it is hoped it will be completed by October.
The money, awarded by Wren’s FCC Community Action Fund, will be used to buy playground equipment.
