POLICE are investigating a sexual assault which took place in Bowness.
Cumbria police said a woman in her 30s was approached from behind and touched on her buttocks in Kendal Road at 8am on July 12.
Police said the woman challenged the offender who walked away without saying anything.
The man is described as white and in his mid 20s, of average build and about 5ft 9ins tall. At the time he was wearing dark trousers and a light-coloured coat.
Police have asked any witnesses to this incident, or similar incidents, to please contact police by calling 101 and asking for PC 1342 Chapman at Kendal police station, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. The public can also email 101@cumbria.police.uk.
