NOT a single rail service will run between Oxenholme and Windermere today - with tourists and visitors set to be hit on the last day of half term.
Rail operator Northern has cancelled all 34 trains that were due to run between Oxenholme and Windermere today (Friday June 1).
Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron, a fierce critic of Northern's over ongoing delays and cancellations, has organised a protest walk due to take place on Saturday June 9.
The 12-mile walk will at Windermere at around 2pm, stopping at Staveley, Burneside and Kendal stations and then finally finishing at Oxenholme station at around 6pm.
Mr Farron said: "We'll be taking our Sack Northern petition to each station so we can boost the number of signatures we have before I hand it over to the Department for Transport when I'm next in Westminster."
