A FARMER has been jailed for a further eight weeks for animal cruelty.
William Gordon Parker Jnr, 34, from Greystone Lane, Dalton pleaded guilty to five counts of failing to protect five bulls from pain, suffering, injury and disease.
He is part of the farming partnership ME Parker and Sons, of Greystone Lane, Dalton.
He appeared at Furness Magistrates Court yesterday.
His father, William Gordon Parker Snr, 56, from Greystone Lane, Dalton was also charged with five counts of the same charge but the case against him was dropped.
District Judge, Gerald Chalk, sentenced Parker Jnr to eight weeks in prison.
Parker Jnr is already serving a 16 month jail term for a number of Trading Standards offences.
He was told that his eight week jail term will run alongside the term he is already serving.
