HUNDREDS of people will congregate in Dalton as the Christmas capital of Furness turns on its festive lights on Sunday.
On Sunday December 4 at 5pm, crowds are expected to muster at Tudor Square before a reindeer led procession sets off at 5:30pm towards Dalton Castle.
The ancient building will be brought to life with mapped images set to be projected on to it as part of a visually stunning display.
Visitors to Dalton should look to park on Tudor Square's free car park which has 60 spaces. Otherwise, there is parking available in Nelson Street, Lime Street and the Co-op in Market Street which provides unrestricted parking for customers and the wider community.
Further events are set to be hold across the town up until December 26 including a festive musical celebration at Dowdales School on December 7 from 7pm.
Dalton mayor Nick Perie will host his charity concert on December 9 and the annual Christingle service will take place on December 11.
Both of these events will be held at St Mary's Church in Dalton, which is currently full of scores of Christmas trees as part of an annual festival which has returned for its 14th year.
