A PLANNING application has been submitted to build a new solar development on the outskirts of a busy town.
Plans have been submitted to Barrow Borough Council to construct a 16 acre solar farm in Sowerby .
The farm would be located to the north of Sowerby Lodge in Bank Lane , Barrow.
It would lie behind Kimberly Clark's mill and just below Sowerby Woods.
Developers expect the farm to yield around 4.17 MW of renewable energy.
The application is set to go before the planning committee at the beginning of December.
