THE Evening Mail's Tonnes of Tins campaign is coming to an end and this week there will be two opportunities for people to help out a food bank in the run up to Christmas.

The campaign started six weeks ago and the Evening Mail is aiming to collect three tonnes of food for Barrow Foodbank.

This week the Evening Mail trailer will be outside Asda in Barrow on Thursday and outside Booths in Ulverston on Friday. The trailer will be there from 10am until 2pm.

Barrow Foodbank and its satellites fed 3,087 people and issued 1,307 food vouchers between April 1 and October 23. A tonne of food costs roughly £1,680.
