FIREFIGHTERS in Barrow boosted their skills in dealing with nuclear and biological incidents.
Crew members of White Watch last night carried out some training on their Incident Response Unit - designed to be called out in major incidents involving any nuclear, biological and chemical contamination or weapons.
The fire service take on a significant role in a cross-service response to such incidents and the regular training allows firefighters to familiarise themselves with the procedures and equipment used.
