POLICE are appealing for information after a teenage cyclist was injured
after being hit by a car in Barrow.
Cumbria police have said a 13-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after his pedal bike was in collision with a blue Ford Focus car on Leece Lane on bank holiday Monday.
The incident happened just after 2pm and an ambulance attended the scene. The boy was taken to Furness General Hospital to be treated.
Police said the 44-year-old man driving the car was not injured in the incident.
A friend of the boy's family said the boy was wearing a cycling helmet and if not the situation could have been much worse.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Barrow police on 101.
