A NUMBER of abandoned and homeless cats in Barrow are hoping to find their forever homes.

TOBY may be a scruffy cat but he is also a very friendly, gentle creature.

His carers at the Animal Welfare shelter in Rawlinson Street, Barrow, are not sure of his age, but he has obviously had to look after himself for quite a while.
HARD TIME: Toby would be a wonderful pet for any cat lover

This tabby and white boy is too thin and has had an abscess on the side of his neck.

He came to the charity as a stray but with a lot of love and care in a forever home he would be a wonderful pet for any cat lover.

Toby would be best in a quieter home with people who have plenty of time to give him the attention he deserves until he is back to full health.

PLAYFUL: Donald DONALD on the other hand is full of beans and full of mischief, according to shelter staff.

He is aged around four months and is very playful and sticks his nose into everything.

Donald also purrs whenever he is picked up or patted and loves playing with toys and anything he can lay his paws on.

Amazingly Donald also came in as a stray, but he is full of life and very healthy and a real cutie.

Poor little MADGE , the four-month-old tabby who came in as a hissing and snarling feral is still in need of a good home even though she has calmed down and is more timid than scary.
FRIENDLY: Madge

She is coming round and just needs time and patience to get to know people and get used to being handled.

Madge is very friendly with the smaller kittens she shares a room with and lets them share her food.

A new resident in the charity’s shelter is one tiny little ginger kitten who is also very scared and dirty.

IN CARE: This little ginger waif needs a good home It is hard to understand how a kitten this young can find himself a homeless stray at such a young age.

He is another kitten who needs a stable loving home to regain his confidence.
