A BARROW fast food outlet has teamed up with local homeless charities to help those in need through a special meal deal.
The international chain - which has shops in Barrow's Dalton Road, Hindpool Retail Park and at the Shell station in Abbey Road - will offer a six-inch sub and a drink in exchange for £1 and a new pair of gloves.
Customers will be able to do their bit for the cause on Tuesday October 25 between 11am and 3pm, with the gloves collected being distributed to Furness Homeless Support Group and Project John.
A post on the Barrow-based Furness Homeless Support Group's Facebook page said: "Not only do they get to enjoy a delicious lunch, but they will be helping to make a difference to people’s lives, with us receiving these gloves to help keep the people we welcome warm this winter."
Volunteers at the charity said the Gloves for Subs campaign, which is taking place at Subway branches across the UK, was a "great community initiative".
