A MAN is due to appear in court charged with driving with excess alcohol after a brand-new BMW was crashed into a shop in Barrow town centre.
Nathan Leslie Barker, of Dover Street, Walney, has been charged with drink-driving after an alleged offence on Monday August 15.
A 2016 white BMW 135i, was involved in a collision and ended up on its roof after hitting the shop front of R&T Music in Dalkeith Street.
No-one was injured in the incident but considerable damage was caused to the front of the shop.
Barker, 23, has since been charged with driving with excess alcohol having alleged to have provided a breath specimen which gave a reading of 51 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Barker is due to appear at Furness Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
