FIREFIGHTERS have passed an arson attack onto police to investigate after a series of trees were deliberately set on fire in Barrow Park.

A crew from Barrow fire station was called to Barrow Park at around 5.30pm on Saturday to reports of a pile of rubbish on fire.

The blaze was quickly put out but the case has now been passed to police who have said the arson attack involved a number of trees which were set on fire.

Anyone who knows who is responsible for the fire, or who witnessed anything suspicious at the time, is asked to call police on 101 quoting log reference 202 of February 18 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
