THE foodbank which operates across Barrow, Ulverston and Millom has issued an urgent appeal for some food items.
Volunteers at the charity say stocks of tinned fruit, tinned fish, biscuits and dried pasta and rice are very low.
In the last three months, the amount handed out to those in need has been double the items which have been donated.
Donations to the foodbank can be left at Asda, Tesco Extra, Morrisons and a number of other drop-off points in Barrow.
In Ulverston, food can be left at Bethany Church in Lightburn Road or Ulverston Parish Church in Church Walk.
For those who live in Millom, items can be donated via Tesco or Millom Baptish Church.
