A TOY shop set to open tomorrow allowed five lucky children the chance to have a look around the store and play with its goodies.

The special guests of The Entertainer in Dalton Road, Barrow, were chosen at random through a competition in The Mail.

The children got to go into the store before it opens and had full access to all toys on the shelves.

Store manager Rachel Williamson said: "All the VICs are really excited, and so are the staff.

"It is fantastic and all the staff here today are really engaged. The store is something the town needed to bring people back to shopping in the centre and not at the retail parks.

"We are not a 'look and don't touch' toy store, we will be encouraging children to play with the toys."

Isaac Wadiun, eight, was one of the lucky winners who got to enjoy all the delights the store has to offer.

He was there with his aunt, Hannah Simpson. She said: "It is quite a good store, it is nice and big and good for the town. It is somewhere for people to come to."

The store will officially open its doors at 9am on tomorrow morning.

June Hewiston was at The Entertainer today with her grandson, Alfie McLeese, four.

He could be seen running around playing with many different toys, including the popular fidget spinner.

She said: "This is brilliant, the staff have been really good with Aflie, it's a really good store with a good selection and Alfie is getting to try everything he possibly can."

Tomorrow morning the team from in the store will be doing demonstrations on the street to give people some examples of the things they are likely to find when they step through the doors.

Amanda Ruddy, who was there with Rachel Reeves, nine, said: "There is an excellent selection and there are some good educational toys as well."

Store staff said if it does rain tomorrow, they will take the demonstrations inside to the large area in front on the till.

The store opens at 9am.

The five lucky winners of the competition were:

Ella-May Logan, four.

Harry Andrews, three.

Isaac Wadiun, eight.

Alfie McLeese, four.

Rachel Reeves, nine.
