Volunteers will be showcasing the dedicated work they put into preserving Barrow Park at an open day this month.

The Barrow Park greenhouse, maintained by the Friends of Barrow Park, will be open to visitors on Saturday, September 26 between 11am and 3pm.

The day will be used to encourage donations from members of the public to go towards the continued maintenance of the glass show house and the park itself.

Children are allowed to visit but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

The Friends of Barrow Park took over the responsibility of tending to the site last year and have opened it to the public at various points since for special events.

The group have been praised by both Westmorland and Furness Council and Barrow Town Council for their ongoing efforts.
