Two Lake District accommodation providers have been recognised with national awards for outstanding visitor experience.
Skelwith Fold Caravan Park in Ambleside and Mill Pool Barn in Coniston have each received a 2026 ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Award from VisitEngland, an honour that celebrates businesses delivering exceptional customer service to guests.
The ROSE (Recognition Of Service Excellence) Awards recognise accommodation providers across England who give visitors the best customer experience.
Andrew Stokes, director at VisitEngland, said: "The VisitEngland ROSE Awards showcase the excellent accommodation available across England.
"They honour the people behind the businesses who go out of their way to provide outstanding customer service, innovative options for all tastes and budgets and a great welcome for visitors.
"Where people rest their heads is central to ensuring memorable visitor experiences, whether that’s glamping or B&B stays, to country pubs with rooms or self-catering cottages, these providers drive tourism and its benefits across communities."
Winners are nominated by VisitEngland’s Quality Scheme assessors and selected from assessor comments and online feedback from overseas and domestic visitors.
The awards are open to all types of accommodation, including hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, self-catering, parks, glamping sites, and hostels, and are not limited by star rating.
The 2026 awards, now in their tenth year, were presented on September 8 at The Post Barn in Newbury, Berkshire.
Tourism remains one of England’s most valuable industries, contributing £127 billion annually to the economy and supporting 2.1 million jobs across the country.
A third winner in the region, Hollins Farm near Silverdale, was also recognised by the national tourism body.
