A colourful convoy of tractors honked, beeped and roared as they thundered through Furness towns and villages.
Furness and District Tractor Run returned on Sunday, September 6, with 70 vehicles travelling a 40-mile route from Ulverston Auction Mart, to Barrow, and ending at The Commercial in Kirkby-in-Furness.
People lined the roads to watch the parade, all in aid of St Mary's Hospice.
Organisers Karen Higgs and Alan Irving said: "It’s been good, we’ve had a really good community response.
"It’s been humbling, there’s been lots of people out showing their support.
"Money is still being donated so we don’t have a total yet.
"This year we would love to see us get over the £100,000 milestone across the two runs."
The event began in 2019 and has since raised more than £94,000 for St Mary’s.
Karen and Alan said: "It’s gone from strength to strength.
"So many people get involved and donate, it’s great to see the community getting behind it.
"Anything raised is amazing.
"So much of the local farming and rural community are behind the tractor run, wanting to raise money for the hospice.
"It feels a bit mind blowing, it’s very full on, but it’s very worth it.
"It’s just growing, it’s like a carnival.”
Tractor driver Paul Ashburner said: "It’s a fantastic day, it’s very good for the local farming community and excellent for St Mary’s, which most of us have used at one point or another over the years.
"The support from the public makes it so special, everyone comes out waving and cheering.
“But the Christmas Run is on another level with atmosphere.
"Whether it’s raining or snowing, it’s great seeing the kids faces light up.
“It’s well supported by communities and businesses.”
Furness and South Cumbria Supply are among the businesses rallying alongside the Tractor Run to raise money for St Mary's Hospice.
Andrew Mossop, John Satterthwaite and his daughter Molly also took part.
They said: “We always enjoy it, it’s something to look forward to.
"It’s for a good cause and it gets great support.
"We were very well supported throughout, all smiling and laughing.
“Shout out to Alan for the amount of work that goes into it.
"Full praise to him, we do the easy bit.”
The popular Christmas Tractor Run will return later this year on December 5.
