A WOMAN is due to appear in court later today after being accused of claiming unentitled personal independence payments (PIP).
Diane Richards is said to have failed to declare to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) that her care and mobility needs had improved.
The 57-year-old has been charged with one offence of dishonestly failing to notify a change of circumstances affecting entitlement to security benefit / advantage / payment.
Richards, of Mealo House, Allonby, is alleged to have committed the crime affecting her entitlement to PIP payments in Maryport between February 12, 2024, and February 23, 2025.
She will appear at West Cumbria Magistrates’ Court in Workington this afternoon.
