After months of Easter eggs filling the shelves of Barrow’s supermarkets, it’s finally time for us to get our hands on the chocolate goodies.

However, as of February 2026, the ONS report there’s been an 8.7% year-on-year price increase in terms of sweets and chocolate.

That’s something that Barrovian shoppers will have noticed over the past few weeks while stocking up on chocolate eggs so we’ve decided to look at the prices of the hollow eggs in Barrow’s four main supermarkets.

Tesco

It goes without saying that Tesco’s Easter egg range is cheaper with a clubcard so it's important for shoppers to remember that when purchasing from the supermarket.

For medium eggs, their prices are all at £2 for a 95 gram egg but those decrease to a minimum of £1 with a clubcard with the most expensive being £1.25.

For large eggs that weigh 190 grams, prices all lie at £4.50 with clubcard deals taking them down to £3.50.

Extra-large eggs start at £7 and go up to £15 but there are clubcard offers on all of them, ranging from £5 to £12.

Morrisons

Much like Tesco, it’s important to remember your More Card at Morrisons, as they have offers on Easter goods too.

The medium eggs start at £2.50, but decrease to £1.50 with the loyalty card.

Large eggs are priced from £4.50 to £5, with those reducing to £3.50 on the offers.

While extra large eggs are priced from £7 to £15, with more card prices making the cheapest extra large egg £4.50 and the most expensive £12.50.

Asda

Asda’s medium eggs are initially priced cheaper than their competitors, with them sitting at £1.40.

Large eggs are priced at £3.97 while extra large eggs start at £4.32 and increase to £11.

Aldi

Aldi have a variety of Easter treats from their in-house selection, with their most expensive egg costing £8.49.

Aldi also have a limited range of branded Easter eggs, with large eggs priced at £2.25 and extra large eggs are priced from £4.99 to £9.99.
