Mountain adventure is coming to the big screen in South Cumbria in support of a rescue service.
The London Mountain Film Festival returns to Broughton on Friday, March 13, with a night of adrenaline-fuelled adventure films in aid of the Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team.
Held at the Victory Hall, the event will feature 11 short films exploring fell running, rock and ice climbing, mountain biking, surfing and caving.
Tickets cost £12 online or £14 cash on the door, with all profits supporting the volunteer-led rescue team.
Annette Carmichael, secretary of Broughton Film Club, said: "Once again we are excited to be screening our own selection of films from the 120 submitted to the London Mountain Film Festival.
"Our audience will no doubt find these stories of courage and determination a great motivation for their own adventures.
"We’ve sold out each year so I would suggest buying your ticket as soon as possible."
The event will also include a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses.
Contributors include Leisure Lakes Bikes in Ulverston, The Climbers Shop in Ambleside, and Pete Bland Sports in Kendal, as well as Broughton’s The Square Café, The Blacksmiths Arms, The Manor Arms, and Community Shop.
Raffle and bar duties will be supported by members of the mountain rescue team.
