An Ambleside hotel is launching a new restaurant.
Rothay Manor's new eatery, Rowan, will be centred around "delicious food without the white-tablecloth formality."
Cameron Smith, head chef ,will be leading the kitchen, with an emphasis on "flavour over formality."

According to the hotel, Rowan will be an informal dining experience, providing a mid-point between "fine dining" and "muddy boots pubs and cafés."
The aim is to "shake up the UK's culinary capital" with an approach centred around locally sourced dishes, simple but stylish presentation, and a friendly atmosphere.

There will also be a drinks list which was designed to celebrates breweries and distilleries in the area.

"Whether they’re back from a walk around Windermere or just want to enjoy a glass of wine with friends, our new food offering is about making people feel at home.
