A POPULAR Lake District Hotel group have a brand-new offer this month for adults looking to enjoy an after-work treat or pre-dinner snack.
In a trend which has taken New York by storm, Lodore Falls Hotel and Spa in Borrowdale, Keswick, and all five other hotels within the Lake District Hotels group, are serving up a combination of “Martinis and Fries”.
Hotel guests and locals alike will be able to indulge in a city-style luxury in the heart of Cumbria.
Some food and drink pairings just make sense – cheese and wine, tea and biscuits, and now Martinis and Fries.
For Lake District Hotels owner Kit Graves, this trend is more than just a fun idea – it’s a nod to her past.
Kit grew up in Copenhagen, her home city, and in the 1970s, she worked for Martini.
“Being the sole importer of such an iconic brand as Martini vermouth to Denmark was a great experience,” Kit said.
“Not only was the brand easy to promote due to it being so famous and recognised as one of the best vermouths, but the actual support from the company in Italy, was pretty impressive.
Given her connection to the name behind one of the key ingredients in a classic Dry Martini, bringing this trend to the Lake District felt like a full-circle moment.
“I loved the idea as soon as I read about it,” said Kit.
“It’s simple, fun, and just makes sense. A well-made Martini is a timeless classic, and fries are universally loved – what’s not to enjoy?”
Whether you’re looking for an after-work wind-down, a pre-dinner snack, or just an excuse to try something new, the pairing is a guaranteed winner.
The offer includes a choice of dry, dirty, espresso, or pornstar martini, paired with fries and aioli for £12.50.
Martinis and Fries is available Sunday to Friday from 4pm – 6pm throughout March at the following hotels:
