The new president of the Rotary Club of Furness is aiming to increase its membership going forward.
Nigel Johnson officially took over the role on Wednesday, July 3 and will now lead the club for the next 12 months.
In his first moments in the position, Mr Johnson told the club members that they had an exciting year ahead of them and that he was looking forward to increasing the numbers of members in the club in the future.
A recruitment drive in April for the rotary club fell flat, with the new president hoping that he can have more success in the job.
His predecessor, Brian Boyd, thanked the members for giving him the opportunity of serving the club as their president for the second time and wished Mr Johnson 'every success'.
