A charity in Barrow has secured funds totalling over £600,000 to help improve the building it works from.
Drop Zone, which focuses on delivering youth projects across the Furness peninsula, currently base its operations at Lakeland House on Abbey Road.
The charity announced on Monday that it had been successful in its application to the Youth Investment Fund with £607,636 set to support developments at the site, as well as investing in their current initiatives going forward.
A spokesperson said: "Due to the change in councils, there has been a lot of negotiating and due diligence, and we are grateful to all involved in pushing this through."
Work is expected to start on the developments from August this year with further updates on plans set to come in the build-up to the work.
