A mountain rescue team is hoping that an upcoming concert can be the key to helping them raise funds.

The Duddon and Furness MRT are currently trying to bring in money to create a permanent base, replacing the two industrial units they operate from at the present time.

On Monday, July 8, a charity concert will be taking place at Haverigg Cricket Club from 7pm featuring performances from the Holborn Hill Royal Brass Band.

This is alongside the previously announced show happening at Grizebeck Village Hall on July 14 as the MRT ramps up its efforts to encourage donations.

Whilst entry is free on the night at the cricket club, guests are encouraged to dig deep into their pockets for any contributions they can make.

At the end of last year, the rescue volunteers were still looking for £150,000, despite the fact that £775,000 had already been raised.

To make a donation outside of the upcoming concerts, you can visit the website here or message the team via Facebook.
