POLICE have arrested a man on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after a crash between a HGV and a car hospitalised an elderly motorist.
Cumbria Police was called at 11.41am to the report of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Park Road, Barrow.
The crash involved a HGV and a Chevrolet Cruze.
A man in his 80s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody.
