Nominations are now open for The Mail's 'Best Hairdresser or Barber 2024' award.

Whilst voting is still taking place for the 'Best Chippy' award, The Mail is not stopping in its efforts to promote the best of local business.

While we can get the process started, we are now relying on our loyal readers to put forward the names of their favourite stylists.

Do you know someone who is a wizard with scissors? Or someone who can always create the perfect fade?

You can now nominate your favourite hairdresser or barber in south Cumbria by visiting the online voting platform.

Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria, said: “Most people have their favourite hairdresser or barber - many will have been going to the same stylist for years and years.

"Friendships are often formed and a visit can be so much more than a haircut and offers time for a catch-up and a cuppa.

"That’s why The Mail is delighted to launch this award so we can recognise the fabulous hair stylists and barbers in our communities.

"Make sure you nominate your favourite and we’ll be bringing you updates on the salons in our competition so keep an eye out over the next couple of weeks.”
