A BARROW takeaway has been given a new food hygiene rating.
Anchor Fish Bar and Chinese Take Away, a takeaway at 11 Anchor Road, in Barrow was given a score of four out of five.
This was given after an assessment by the local inspector from Westmorland and Furness authority on April 24, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
Hygienic handling of food including preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage was found to be 'Generally satisfactory'.
Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, including having appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control, was found to be 'Good'.
The management of food safety was also found to be in a 'Good' standard.
It means that of Westmorland and Furness's 226 takeaways with ratings, 152 (67%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
