Nominations are now open for The Mail's new 'Best Chippy 2024' award.
Here at The Mail, we are looking to celebrate the best of a great British industry and we need the help of our readers to make it happen.
As part of the competition, you can now nominate your favourite chippy from South Cumbria via an online voting platform.

Online nominations will run from Monday, May 20 until Friday, May 24, with the ten finalists being revealed on Monday, May 27.
Readers will then be able to vote for their 'Best Chippy 2024' by picking up editions of The Mail between Monday, June 3 and Saturday, June 15, with the winner set to be announced on Monday, June 24.
Speaking after the online nominations for The Mail's 'Best Chippy 2024' opened, Joy Yates, regional editor for Newsquest Cumbria, said: "Who doesn’t love a chippy tea and Cumbria can boast having some of the very finest fish and chip shops.
“That’s why we want to highlight some of the best with your help so get voting for your favourite chippy.”

The Mail will be showcasing what the eventual top 10 have to offer, committing itself to supporting their endeavours and highlighting the role they play in the local economy.
