I'm a Celebrity winner Christopher Biggins is set to visit Barrow in June for the very first time.

The actor, who won the ITV series in 2007, is set to attend the Rocky Horror Experience tribute show intended to raise money for Cumbria Animal and Hen Rescue.

The charity, based in Barrow, takes on all kinds of animals, apart from dogs, and staff at the help abandoned and unwanted animals find their forever homes - as well as offering advice.

As an original cast member who played a Transylvanian in the cult film, Biggins will be available for a meet and greet after the performance by the UK's only travelling Rocky Horror Tribute act.

Eddy White, who runs Cumbria Animal Rescue, said: "This is definitely not one you want to miss and it is the first time that Christopher has ever been to Barrow.

"Not only is this to raise money for the animals, which is what this is all about, but it's also about raising the profile of Barrow.

"We're starting to see big names discover Barrow and if we're able to get someone like Christopher Biggins to come here then we're hoping it will inspire other locals venues to be brave and reach out.

"For just £10, Christopher will be available for a meet and greet, but who knows, he may even join in the time warp - anything could happen."

The event takes place on June 14 at Cloud 9. Doors open at 7pm and tickets are available by calling 07527366984.
