Barrow Library will be altering its site every week to make its service more comfortable for autistic people.

'The Golden Hour' will take place every Wednesday, starting from April 24, between 5pm and 6pm.

The move will give neurodiverse people of all ages the chance to explore a quiet library space at their own leisure.

Adjustments to noise levels, screens, and lighting will be made to the library during the hour.

At the start of April, the library also committed itself to updating its reading lists for autistic patrons, as well as revamping its sensory room and its sharing of 'sensory bags'.

Booking for The Golden Hour is not essential - if you have any questions please call Barrow Library on 01229 407373 and ask for a member of staff.
