Barrow police seized a scrambler bike in an area known for its 'anti-social' riding.
The vehicle was confiscated after neighbourhood policing team (NPT) officers carried out high-visibility patrols in the area of Salthouse Mills yesterday (Monday) evening.
The area has a history of “antisocial activity” from fires to fly-tipping, unauthorised motorcycle scrambling, and dumped stolen vehicles.
A spokesperson for Barrow police said: "1 x male was spoken to regarding riding scrambler bikes in this area and was issued with Section 59 notice following multiple reports of scrambler bikes driving in an anti-social manor in this area."
Police Officers and PCSOs can seize vehicles being used in an anti-social manner under the Section 59 Police Reform Act 2002 which 'includes careless or inconsiderate driving or off-road driving that causes, alarm, distress or annoyance to the public.'
