FORMER Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team member Kenny Bruce has died from cancer.
The mountain rescue team announced that they were 'saddened to hear' of the death of their former colleague.
Mr Bruce died last weekend, a spokesperson from the mountain rescue team said.
The spokesperson added: "Ken had been a deputy in the team for many years, and was keen to bring together the Furness and Millom teams to create the wonderful Duddon and Furness Mountain Rescue Team that we have today.
"Since leaving he has remained a friend to many of us, and his positive outlook on life, his ability to see the best in people, and his kind and gentle nature will be sorely missed.
"Our thoughts are with his wife Heather and family at this time."
