Burlington Stone announced on Thursday that they will be contributing to the National Gallery's 200th anniversary.
The Kirkby-in-Furness based business, which manufactures and crafts slate and stone from the Lake District, will be creating a new installation to mark the art museum's birthday.
They will be collaborating with Landform Design Consultancy’s Principal Landscape Designer, Catherine McDonald, on The Boodles Garden at The RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
A spokesperson from Burlington Stone said: "Inspired by paintings at the gallery and following the theme of ‘art in nature’, we’re excited to work with Catherine and the team to showcase the creative ability of the Burlington craftsmen and the beauty of our Lakeland slates and stones."
The celebration for the gallery's bicentenary will officially start on May 10 and, for the ensuing year, a festival of 'art, creativity and imagination' will take place to showcase what can be anticipated in the next 100 years.
