NEW food hygiene ratings have been awarded to 15 of south Cumbria establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.

The following ratings have been given to seven restaurants, cafes or canteens:

• Rated 5: The Pottery Shop Cafe - Windermere at 14 Crescent Road, Windermere; rated on March 27

• Rated 5: King's Church Kendal at The Shakespeare Centre, Shakespeare Yard, Highgate; rated on March 22

• Rated 5: Haverthwaite Station Restaurant at Station House, Haverthwaite, Ulverston; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: Gilpin Bridge Inn at Levens, Kendal; rated on March 19

• Rated 5: Waterside Cafe at Kent View, Kendal; rated on March 13

• Rated 5: Mela Spice at Ash Street, Bowness On Windermere; rated on March 12

• Rated 3: The Green Housekeeper Cafe at 16 Yewdale Road, Coniston; rated on February 21

Five ratings have been handed to pubs and bars:

• Rated 5: Kings Arms Hotel at Main Street, Burton In Kendal; rated on March 22

• Rated 5: Ship Inn at Main Street, Bardsea; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: The Crafty Baa at 21 Victoria Street, Windermere; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: Ulverston Golf Club at Ulverston Golf Club Ltd, Bardsea, Ulverston; rated on March 20

• Rated 5: White Harts Sports Club at 31 Main Street, Sedbergh; rated on March 19
