Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Barrow.
An incident, in the early hours of Sunday March 31, involved three males and one female.
The assault occurred on Cavendish Street at around 3:58am.
A man in his 50s suffered a life-threatening head injury following the incident and remains in hospital in Preston.
A 24-year-old man from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
A 16-year-old boy from Barrow was arrested on suspicion of attempting to assault a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm.
Both remain in police custody.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnesses the incident.
